THE 4 FATHERS OF THE FEATHER NEWS
Shawn Cuthand
WRITER, DIRECTOR
a nehiyaw (Cree) and Kanien’kehà:ka (Mohawk) artist from Saskatoon, is a writer, comedian, producer, actor, and director for The Feather.
His work on the series, which won the APTN/ImagineNative pitch competition, has led to roles in GTNT’s A Rez Xmas and voice acting in Remnance. Shawn’s comedy career spans five years, with notable performances at Winnipeg Fringe, YukYuk’s, and Edmonton’s Grindstone Competition. He co-produces Full Metal Comedy, awarded Best Local Show in 2023, and is currently developing new scripts.

Danny Knight
WRITER, DIRECTOR
​
a multi-talented actor, musician, comedian, writer, and director, known for his work on The Feather News. A graduate of GTNT’s Circle of Voices program, Danny has acted in productions like Thunderstick and This Is How We Got Here and directed several plays.
His film credits include the award-winning short Torch Narrows. Danny tours with his band Nightswitch, formed with his brother, and is currently working on his debut album. His comedy highlights include opening for Shaun Majumder and John Dore, with poetry contributions featured on CBC.

Muskwa Lerat
WRITER, EDITOR
a First Nations artist from Cowessess First Nation, has 20 years of experience in music and film.
A graduate of the Recording Arts Institute of Saskatoon, he co-founded The Sound & Silence Collective, promoting diverse voices. Muskwa’s film projects have featured at international festivals, and since 2016, he has mentored youth at the STC Film Camp. His work as a recording engineer and program designer highlights his commitment to uplifting Indigenous voices and fostering creativity through the arts.

Ryan Moccasin
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, WRITER

a renowned writer and executive producer for the web series “The Feather News” streaming on APTN Lumi. Season two will be released in 2025.
​An award winning Red gentleman, who believes in a powerful diplomatic means of humor as a tool to negotiate in the untamed world of the entertainment industry, is taking over Europe after his American comedy tour in New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Houston, and Palm Springs.
In 2024, he established Undercover Boss Studios with his silent partner. A multimedia production company and a communication research art centre that creates space for a continuous exchange of visual experiences, focusing on film, interactive campaigns, casting and workshops designed to connect filmmakers from all around the globe.
